Tiny!Connor shipping Alana and Zoe, Alana is the only of the two that accepts her love, while Zoe just denies it. Once while she is out, he sneaks into her room and finds songs that Zoe made about her crush *cough cough Alana cough cough* Zoe arrives and just panics/embraces at seeing her brother reading it while jumping (tiny shipper)

How did you get so good at drawing? Any tips for someone who wants to improve? (Your art is soooooo good!)

okay, to answer your question, i’m going to be cliche and say the obvious first: PRACTICE. i’ve been drawing my whole life basically, and i just kept at it. you get better each time you draw, though it may not seem noticeable a lot.

another thing to note: when practicing, it’s TOTALLY OKAY to use references! you can’t just expect to know how to draw something without reference if you don’t even know how to draw something yet. use references for poses, people, animals, perspective, whatever!! and i know tracing is kind of discouraged in drawing, but my stance on tracing is this: it’s okay to do when learning to draw. tracing CAN help figure out proportions and such, but only trace for practice. NEVER post traced work and claim it as your own, that’s when it’s art theft. also, when using references, try to do it in your own style rather than copying it exactly, as it’ll help you establish your style and figure out how you want to draw something.

when it comes to figuring out a style, just draw what feels natural, if you understand what i mean because i’m not the best with words. something i like to do for my style, if there’s a small aspect of another artist’s style i like, i might incorporate it into my style (e.g. maybe how they draw eyes, how they color, etc.) you can’t steal someone’s style, because unless you’re really good at mimicking a style, it’s still going to look pretty different. also, you don’t want to incorporate the entirety of an artist’s style, just little bits, or put your own twist to it.

one thing that can really help are drawing tutorials and how-to’s. whether it’s how to draw something or how to shade and such, they’re really helpful. there’s plenty around Tumblr, and you can also look on YouTube for videos. you can also take classes if you’d like, but i don’t really have much experience with that since my parents put me in a drawing class to learn realism when i was young and i didn’t really enjoy it lol

now, i’m going to say something that most people would (probably) hate to do: look back at your old art. i hate doing that, but you just have to. look at it and figure out what you don’t like. don’t try to fix your style all at once, though. start with one part and focus on that. once you’re satisfied, find another aspect you don’t like and work on that. another thing looking back at old art can do is help you feel you’ve improved. you can compare your art from oldest to newest, or even redraw something old to really look at how much you’ve improved.

tl;dr: PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE, use references to help you, draw what feels more natural for your own style, make sure to use tutorials along the way, and look at your own art to figure out what you want to improve.

those are my tips, i don’t know how much they really help, but i hope it somewhat does. i’m still figuring out a lot of stuff myself tbh lol.
